Fall in to Grounding

Happy Monday Dear Ones. As we transition from Summer to Fall and we inevitably find ourselves indoors for more of our day, we must remember to be aware of our bodies, and the connection to our minds. During the summer we are grounded to Mother Earth as we allow our feet to walk in the grass, the sunshine to break up and dissipate negative energy, and our lungs to fill up with fresh air. We might even throw our arms around a tree or two in a big hug to get that extra boost of connectedness!

But as we move into the Autumn, we tend to lose that connectedness. Perhaps it is too cold for our tootsies to be out in the grass. Or the days are too grey for that sunshine connection. During seasons when it is harder to connect with the earth, it is up to us to find new pathways of connectedness.

Here are some helpful ways to stay grounded as we move inside and into our colder seasons!

1) Deep Breathing: this is a beautiful way to connect with your own body, and to Source, that does not depend on the weather

2) Showers: taking intentional time in your shower routine to connect with life-giving water can have a calming effect for the mind and the body

3) Salt baths: my absolute favourite way of grounding during the colder months, bathing in a good salt bath can cleanse not only your body, but the negative energy you may have been holding

4) Mindful movements: whether this is yoga, tai chi, and qigong are beautiful ways to move energy through your body and release what does not serve you, leaving you feeling calm and connected

5) Eat grounding foods: not only does eating food that comes right out of the ground help your body connect to the earth, it also has the added benefits of nourishing your body in a mindful way

Incorporating grounding into your daily routine has so many ongoing health benefits and is a way for you to choose yourself and your highest good, time and again. You deserve that!

In love and peace,

Kate
